The Cracks

The Japanese 500-year-old art of kintsugi, or “golden joinery,” is a method of restoring a broken teacup with a lacquer often mixed with gold.

The gold-filled cracks of a once-broken item are a testament to its history. Beauty is in still being useful—chipped and cracked, but still keeping it together.

The cracks let light in, but maybe also allows others to still benefit from the beauty of the gold filled usefulness that results.
