WHO I AM
I’m John C — indie web designer and developer — the person who actually builds your website or platform. I come from product management, quality assurance, and technical operations — which means I arrive at every project with a perspective most designers don’t have.
I anticipate failure points before they surface. I ask the questions many designers skip — and I’ll tell you honestly when something won’t work, before it becomes your problem.
No handoffs. No surprises. Just focused, intentional work from someone who’s seen how these projects go wrong — and knows how to keep them going right.
WHAT I BUILD
Some projects are websites. Others are platforms — member portals, donation and commerce systems, digital marketplaces, and custom tools built around specific organizational needs.
Recent work includes a digital marketplace for an artist advocacy nonprofit with ties to a California university, and a member portal for an AI-driven wellness consultancy — projects that required thinking well beyond the homepage.
I work primarily with mission-driven organizations: nonprofits, social programs, wellness practitioners, and initiatives at the intersection of technology, community, and impact. These clients tend to have sophisticated stakeholders, real accountability, and a website that actually has to work.
